Great Stitched Postcard Swap

I participated in the Great Big Stitched Postcard Swap this year.  You can learn more about this very cool swap here http://dowhatyouloveforlife.com/swap/.   The theme this year was 'Blossom' and here is what I sent:

You are required to include stitching of some sort and so I added a simple stitched border to the outside of the card.  I used colored pencils blended with gamsol on the lotus blossom.  I loved this technique and I will definitely be using it again.

I am thrilled to report that one of my cards has been published in the Aug/Sep 2011 Stamper's Sampler magazine!  The card that I submitted is a modified version of my sister's birthday card.  The magazine challenge was to use a photograph or magazine picture.  I have always loved this picture of my beautiful sister.  Now I can confess that the trim came from a 'vintage' hand towel that belonged to my aunts.
