We Moved!

What better way to announce your change of address then a ghostly image on an old photograph?

This idea came from a Creativebug class on making your own postcards and mail art.  One of the examples was an artist who stamped images onto old photographs.  I loved this idea!

We are haunting a new home now!  This is the first thing I created in the new craft room which is still a mess.  Getting organized is a challenge!

She Dreamed Beautiful Dreams

On one of my many trips to Goodwill I found this sweet picture of two ballerinas. I decided to focus on only one and painted over everything but her.  I then collaged on some papers for the background and added flowers.

This takes me back to those early days when I took ballet.  I must have been 8 years old and was bored by the whole thing.  I have always been a bit clumsy, too.  I really wanted riding lessons!

Happy Birthday My Friend

Lisa and I have been friends since 9th grade when we were seated next to each other in English class and talked so much during class that the teacher just gave up and let us gab.  Our friendship has been like that for 45 years now.  We can talk for hours on end and have shared so many adventures - mostly good, some learning experiences mixed in.

Lisa is the smartest and funniest woman I know and she always has my back as I have hers.

Made this card for Lisa's 60th (my 60th was just 4 months ago).  Used some Tim Holtz tissue paper collaged with Tim Holtz 'Abandoned' paper, and, an old tiny Chinese fan that I cut up is behind their heads.  I also used the cord from the tiny fan to bind the girls together.  A star from a ticket stub at their feet and a chat sticker.

Shine on my friend!

Its a Genetic Thing

While I had all the supplies out, I made this one, too.  I am loving these humorous cards!

Act your age? Never!

When my husband and I visited the Hatch Print gallery in Nashville, they had a bin of offcuts from discarded prints.  Excited at the possibilities, I grabbed up some to take home.  I used one of those for this background, layered on some Tim Holtz tissue, a photo, a sassy chat sticker, and finally a tiny bit of embroidery for her hair ornament.

And a Happy Birthday to my sweet niece who is all grown up now, but, definitely young at heart!
